Jersey Mike's Subs (NYSE: JMKE) is reinstating Mike's Hot Italian as a limited-time menu item at $8.95 for a regular sub, available at participating locations across the United States and Canada beginning September 8. The return is timed to coincide with the NFL season opener, leveraging the chain's standing as the Official Sub Sandwich Sponsor of the NFL.
The Offer
The sandwich is built around a combination of ham, salami and pepperoni that is grilled and chopped, then covered in melted provolone. Toppings include grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and the chain's proprietary Chopped Pepper Relish, all prepared fresh daily. Jersey Mike's first introduced Mike's Hot Italian earlier in 2026; the company cited strong initial consumer response as the rationale for the fall relaunch.
"We were excited by the response to Mike's Hot Italian when we introduced it earlier this year, and we're pleased to bring it back for our customers this fall," said Stacy Peterson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Jersey Mike's. Peterson added that football season represents a meaningful engagement window for the brand given its NFL sponsorship.
Loyalty and Promotional Overlay
Alongside the product relaunch, the chain is activating its MyMike's loyalty program with a free-to-play NFL Predictor Game. Members who participate are eligible for prizes that range from a Super Bowl Experience for two at the top end to NFL Shop gift cards and Jersey Mike's gift cards at lower tiers. The program is designed to deepen engagement with the brand's loyalty base during what operators in the quick-service restaurant segment increasingly treat as a high-traffic promotional corridor — the roughly 18-week NFL regular season.
Limited-time offerings tied to sports sponsorships have become a standard traffic-driving mechanism across fast-casual chains, and Jersey Mike's approach here fits a broader industry pattern of using loyalty mechanics to extend the commercial life of LTO windows. The NFL partnership gives the chain a national platform that smaller regional sandwich operators cannot easily replicate, and the $8.95 price point for a regular sub positions Mike's Hot Italian within the competitive range of comparable hot-sub offerings across the fast-casual sandwich category.
Scale and Standing
Jersey Mike's operates more than 3,300 locations across the United States and Canada, a network that gives the company national distribution reach critical to executing a simultaneous LTO rollout of this scale. The brand ranked first in the quick-service restaurant category in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index Restaurant and Food Delivery Study and topped Entrepreneur's 2026 Franchise 500 list, metrics that the company has been using actively in franchise development and operator recruitment conversations. The chain was founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
